WAVE GOODBYE  TO WISTERIA
Oh no!!!! It was confirmed sunday that Season 8 of Desperate Housewives will be TV viewer’s last visit to Wisteria Lane, to the utter-disappointment of fan’s. ABC released this statement in regard’s to the end of the award-winning drama series originally rumored to finish it’s run in 2013:

All good things eventually come to an end, and in the eighth and final season, the stakes for everyone on Wisteria Lane are at an all-time high
Season 8 of ‘Desperate Housewives’ will roll out in a way that is accessible even to viewers who may have lapsed in their viewing, and be all the richer and more rewarding to the series’ loyal fans

It is also rumored, that after 7 season’s, Creator Marc Cherry will not be stepping in to produce the final season, however Cherry has gave some deet’s on what to expect in this final trip to Wisteria:

Shows go on too long and they are unceremoniously booted off. I didn’t want it to happen to Desperate Housewives. While we are still a force to be reckoned with, I wanted to go off in the classiest way possible.

The series will return to the death of Mary Alice, bringing the series back full circle. Cherry also mentioned that he had considered a spin off based on Eva Longoria’s character ‘Gabrielle Marquez’, which was later scrapped.
The housewive’s have kept us desperate for their attention since their debut in 2004, and in that time the show has racked up an amazing 3 Golden Globe award’s and 7 Emmy’s!
The final series of Desperate Housewive’s is expected to premiere in the US on September 25, 2011!!
